We need something done this year, the people of Bua should have a town – Vosarogo

The people of Bua Province are expected to see the start of the Nabouwalu Town Development project this year after the Minister of Lands Filimoni Vosarogo visited the site this week.

Vosarogo says while listening to the presentation by officials, he identified that a couple of ministries need to have a working committee to guide this project and get it done.

He says they need something done this year.

Meanwhile, the Divisional Northern Senior Town Council and Country Planner, Manasa Tuilau informed the Minister that there are two components for the new Nabouwalu Town Development project.

He says stage one is the rehabilitation work, which is still not completed.

Tuilau says they are still waiting for the civil engineering plan to be approved by the Fiji Roads Authority.

He adds once it's approved, then civil works can start.

He says the second stage of the project is the passengers' terminal service building.

Tuilau says $150,000 has been approved for the current financial year.

The Divisional Northern Senior Town Council says the former Minister Premila Kumar came last year, and people requested for passengers terminal since people travel every day in Nabouwalu, but there is no passenger terminal building for passengers.

While presenting, Tuilau says the second stage is delayed because it is still with the tender board from last year.
