Fiji Primary Schools Rugby Union President, Sakiusa Turagabeci

We may not be as glamorous as the Vodafone Deans but this is where it all begins.

Fiji Primary Schools Rugby Union President, Sakiusa Turagabeci highlighted this to fijivillage News on Day 2 of the Vodafone Fiji Primary School Kaji and Kajiana Rugby Competition at the HFC Bank Stadium.

Turagabeci says they are also thankful that Fiji Airways Men's National 7s Coach Osea Kolinisau who opened the games told the children with tears rolling down their eyes that he once was sitting right where they are in a Kaji jersey, telling them that they can also make it to the Fiji team.

He says development for Kaji rugby is right across the board from the highlands, maritime, and into the urban areas.

The Primary Schools Rugby Union President says the teams to look out for are Taveuni and Cakaudrove.

Turagabeci says for them it’s development first then competition later.

He says they are proud to say they are the largest rugby union in Fiji with over with over 21,000 boys registered for the Kaji and over 11,000 girls for Kajiana.

17 districts are currently participating, featuring only the U13 and U14 categories for both boys and girls.
