Health Minister Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete

Health Minister Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete says we should continue to think about how we behave in the new normal and we have to keep pushing this new behavioural change associated with combating COVID-19.

Dr Waqainabete says what is becoming clear is that when restrictions are being lifted in countries, and they go back to their old normal then the risk of COVID-19 is very high.

As people await the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama’s announcement on the restrictions around COVID-19, Dr Waqainabete says they have made appropriate recommendations.

He further says that this is not a one off thing.

The Health Minister also says that testing for COVID-19 continues.

He says that more than 4,000 tests have been done.
