We have enough armory to defend girls' title – MGM Principal

We have enough armory to defend girls' title – MGM Principal

We have enough armour to defend the Coca-Cola Games girls title, and we will go in there to fight it out.

This is the message from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School Principal Rajeshwar Prasad who says they may not be the favourites for the girls blue ribbon, but they are counting on Losalini Raikadroka and Tirisiane Kiliraki who have each clocked around 12.8 seconds, which is a reasonable time.

He also says they believe they have very strong sub-junior athletes who should be able to help them in retaining their title.

The Principal says for the boys division, they will be happy if they can win around as many medals as they did last year.

Prasad says it is difficult to keep the boys in school as most of them are usually lured by other boys schools, especially with the small contingent of athletes they have.

He says they will be building slowly and see how far they go in a few years to come.

Prasad confirms they have not recruited anybody in the girls division.

He adds there are some incentives their winners can look forward to when they win gold.
