Deputy Prime Minister Professor Biman Prasad

We have absolute faith in media organisations, editors and journalists that they will run a responsible media industry in Fiji.

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Professor Biman Prasad after the Media Act was repealed in parliament yesterday.

Professor Prasad says journalism will only flourish with this freedom.

He adds they have to give respect to those who are in the media industry to manage their own affairs.

The Deputy PM says this will be good for the opposition as well.
