Opposition and SODELPA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka .

Opposition and SODELPA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka has stressed that he does not agree and nor has the Party authorised comments made by party member Lynda Tabuya regarding Diwali.

Rabuka says as a multiracial party, their value is to embrace and respect the freedom of religious association as enshrined in the 2013 Fijian and the SODELPA constitutions.

The SODELPA Leader says while it is an unprecedented period of hardship for our nation, the advent of Diwali is a beacon of hope that we can triumph over our challenges, transcend our differences and embrace unity as we move forward.

Rabuka says Diwali should remind us all that there is still hope and goodwill despite the adversity and despair the country is facing today.

The SODELPA Leader says it is so wonderful that as a multiracial nation, we celebrate Diwali in recognition of the freedom of religion and the contribution of Girmitiyas and their descendants in the development of our nation.

Rabuka has urged everyone to work together to ensure everlasting peace and a progressive Fiji.
