Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime, Mesake Waqa stresses that Police completed their investigation into the death of 41 year old Acting Manager of Crowne Plaza, Jason Rigby, and could not establish any foul play.
As 60 Minutes Australia goes to air with a segment creating doubts that the tragic incident was a suicide, ACP Waqa says there was no foul play.
When questioned by fijivillage News, ACP Waqa stresses there is no cover-up as they sent the file to the Resident Magistrate in March recommending for a full inquest.
40 year old Acting Manager of Crowne Plaza, Rigby was found in the bathroom lying motionless with blood on his chest and a kitchen knife in his hand.
ACP Waqa had said in December that they will not be drawn into speculation and assured the victim's family of conduct of a thorough investigation.
Police called for everyone’s patience.
General Manager of Crowne Plaza Nadi Bay Resort and Spa, Shaun Parsons said at the time that the hotel team were sad to confirm the loss of one of their team members.
Parsons said local police confirmed that there was no criminal investigation for the incident.
He said they were in contact with their family and are doing all they can to support them.
