Minister for Youth and Sports Parveen Bala says we cannot let our guards down as this may see us getting the full force of a COVID-19 upper cut.

While opening the Community Sports Association Conference today, Bala says the conference will need to address the new normal and post pandemic sporting world.

He says we must not fear the new normal.

Bala says we as a nation are finding means and ways to have better control of the pandemic however this does not mean that we can relax.

The Minister says we must keep our guards up and continue in efforts to vaccinate and keep to safe health protocols.

Bala says we have already demonstrated that Fijians are able to operate within this new normal and our sports fraternity has shown the way in enabling most of our competitions and development work to be back on pre-pandemic levels.

He also says the convention will give them an opportunity to deliberate on what is lacking, what can be improved and what can be done to take sport forward with the support and contributions of all stakeholders in our communities.
