Pastor Manasa Kolivuso who returned from Jerusalem, Israel in the Fiji Airways chartered flight this morning has shared his experience of being in a State that is at war and says they are grateful to be home safe again.

Pastor Kolivuso says it was 6.30am when they heard the sirens while having breakfast after the day of the Feast of Tabernacles 2023.

He says he called his wife who did not know what was going on because the Israeli have an app on their smart phones where the siren would come through.

Pastor Kolivuso says they saw people stand up and walk calmly to the bomb shelter and after the all-clear was given, they returned for breakfast.

He says sirens went off about 6 or 7 times that day.

He says they are thankful to God for His protection and the reassurances by the Fiji government and the management team of Fiji Airways.

Pastor Kolivuso also highlighted that he was questioned by a journalist from the Jerusalem Airline if anyone was coming to take them and he replied that their airline was 2 hours behind to land upon which she said that this is a miracle flight.

Meanwhile, the Paramount chief of Burebasaga, Na Marama Bale Na Roko Tui Dreketi, Ro Teimumu Kepa acknowledged the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, the Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, Pio Tikoduadua and the Tui Nadi for the traditional welcome this morning.

Ro Teimumu says she was expecting the Prime Minister just to welcome them home at the airport but they did more than that.

She says regardless of what had happened, we as Fijians have a sense that God sees them through because he is in control.
