The Fiji Red Cross Society also handed over hygiene kits and more than 1,000 pulse oxi metres.

Health Minister Doctor Ifereimi Waqainabete is stressing that we are not out of the woods yet as we have seen countries like Singapore who have reached a vaccination percentage of 80 percent and are still facing some challenges.

With the easing of some restrictions today and the steady increase in vaccination numbers, Doctor Waqainabete says he is glad because it means some of our frontliners get to rest and see their families.

He says they are still actively searching for pockets of the population that need to be encouraged to get vaccinated.

He says their surveillance system will continue to be a safety net.

More than 1,000 pulse oxi metres which is used to indirectly monitor the oxygen saturation of a patient's blood has been donated by the Fiji Red Cross Society to the Health Ministry today.

The Fiji Red Cross Society also handed over hygiene kits this morning.
