Minister for Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu

Minister for Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu says Fiji is in the dry season and they are allocating emergency water already in a few communities in the Western Division particularly in the Yasawa, Vatulele and Malolo.

The west has been quite dry for the last few months.

Seruiratu highlighted this when asked by the Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports, Alipate Nagata to update parliament on how the Ministry is using the Self Help Program and community access roads, footpaths and footbridges for development in the Rural and Maritime areas.

Seruiratu also says we should not focus only on the COVID-19 pandemic as we are moving closer to the cyclone season and we hope that we could be easing off the burden of COVID as we approach November, but the key message is preparation.
