The CEO of the Water Authority of Fiji, Barry Omundson says they anticipate to normalise water supply in the greater Suva area by tomorrow night into Saturday morning.

Thousands of people are currently affected by water disruptions as those living in the elevated parts of Samabula, Rewa Street, Delainavesi to Togalevu, as well as elevated areas of Nasinu and surrounding areas are getting intermittent supply of water at times.

In relation to water carting, some people have raised concerns that water is not being carted to their areas and when they are calling on 3346777 or 5777, the call is not being answered.

Omundson says they are doing their best.

The temporary water interruption which started yesterday afternoon is due to a series of unplanned electricity outages yesterday which had disrupted water supply operations to the Waimanu, Savura and Waila Raw Water Pump Stations and blockage of their intakes due to floodwaters which had affected and reduced the production rate of treated water at the Tamavua and Waila Water Treatment Plants.

The areas affected are Delainavesi to Togalevu Naval Base, elevated areas in Samabula (Votua Street, Moala Street, Lakeba Street, Lovoni Street) Nailuva Road, Rewa Street, Ratu Sukuna Road, Howell Road, Fulaga Street, Lakeba Street, Bureta Street, Ki Street, Wailoku, Sese Street, Kikau Street, Kula Street, Shalimar Street, Moti Street, Raiwasa, Lagilagi Housing, Kula Street, Waiqanake, Nabaka, Muaivuso, Namakala Nasinu Areas, Yasiyasi Road, Duvula, parts of Nawanawa Road, Caqiri Road, Tax Free Zone, Valelevu, Nasinu Road, Nasole, parts of Kinoya and Delainamasi.
