The water disruption at Navua Hospital did not last 7 days as reported by the media and neither were patients using the bushes to carry out their ‘business.’

The Ministry of Health has stated this after serious concerns were raised with fijivillage News from patients and people on the ground in Navua.

They are assuring members of the public that water woes at the Navua Hospital was restored on Friday.

The Ministry says water disruptions occurred at Navua Hospital and nearby areas late Wednesday night, spilling over to Thursday.

They say the hospital had measures in place such as sourcing water from water tanks and supplied bottles of drinking water to patients that were admitted after the Water Authority of Fiji sent out water disruption notifications.

The Ministry urges fair reporting and would like to encourage the public to call 157 or talk to the shift supervisor or the Medical Officer in Charge of the health facility should you have an issue.

Meanwhile, photos were sent to fijivillage News regarding blocked up toilets due to no water.
