The off-again and on-again water supply situation for people living in areas like Lami, Samabula, Tamavua and Nadera is resulting in many residents raising concerns on what is happening as there is no constant water supply and no advanced messages from the Water Authority of Fiji on disruptions.

For many people they say in the last 12 days, they have experienced no water in their taps for most of these days.

They are asking the authorities what is happening and why this prolonged hardship is being experienced by many residents.

People living in areas like Uduya Point and Wailekutu say water supply is on in some parts of the mornings but there are supply issues in the afternoons and nights.

For others living in the lower areas of Lami, they say they have had no water for 5 days, then had water for 2 days, then 3 days off, 1 day on, 1 day off and back on today.

In Wailekutu, they do not have water from 10am to about 2am the next morning.

In Upper Ragg Avenue, water supply is inconsistent on most days, and it is mainly off in the mornings, afternoons and nights.

We have asked Water Authority of Fiji, and they have confirmed that there was a burst main at Vugalei Bridge.

They say this was the cause of the disruption, and supply restoration is progressing now after works were completed last night.

For Nadera, WAF confirms that there is another burst main at Ratu Dovi Road.

The team is mobilizing now to start repairs.
