However, there will be tough competition coming from athletes like last year’s blue ribbon event winner and Suva Grammar School sprinter Semesa Caginivalu who has run a manual time of 10.13 seconds.

Natabua High School’s Isimeli Tuvusa, Grammar’s Aisake Manna and Marist’s Ravuama Latilevu will also be pushing to make history this afternoon.

Athletics Fiji Development Officer and Oceania Athletics Association council member, Albert Miller says after some years he has seen a flyer like Rauqe and it will be interesting to see if he can clinch the gold medal in the 100 metres this afternoon.

He says anything can happen on the day of the competition.

The Secondary Schools Athletics team will be selected after the games.

The Coca-Cola Games will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva.
