WAF urges customers to clear their bills

WAF urges customers to clear their bills

The Water Authority of Fiji is urging their customers to clear their overdue water bills as soon as possible before water meter disconnection activities commence.

WAF Chief Operating Officer, Seru Soderberg says in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, customers were provided with an extended grace period from paying their bills and it is also important to note that water treatment is an expensive process.

Soderberg says Fiji has one of the lowest water rates, at 15 cents for the first 1,000 litres compared to other countries in the world and the South Pacific region.

He further says with the signs showing that we are headed towards recovery, they are urging all their customers to help them as they have helped all Fijians during their time of need.

Soderberg adds for customers that are still facing hardship, avenues of assistance are available for genuine cases but this need to be communicated across to WAF teams by customers.
