The water disruptions experienced within Colo-i-Suva Village has been resolved as the issue was caused by a failing pumping system at the Forestry Pump Station.

According to the Water Authority of Fiji, repairs to the pumping system were completed, but unfortunately, the restoration of water experienced delay and further complications as the system showed signs of sabotage.

The Authority says their operations team has observed unauthorised valve manipulation in the area, causing no water supply and damage within the pumping system.

WAF Regional Manager Operations (Central East) Samuela Rokovaleusa met with Colo-i-Suva villager Venina Rokocua and briefed her on the works carried out by the team.

Rokocua thanked the Water Authority team for coming to visit them, as the water issues have been happening for almost two weeks.

She says they are very grateful that water is now normalised.

Rokocua also acknowledged WAF for their commitment and hard work.

She is also thankful to the Fiji Government for listening to the pleas from the Yasuva o Duanuku in Colo-i-Suva Village.

Meanwhile, the WAF team are appealing to customers to work with their operations team to weed out such irresponsible acts of sabotage and report any suspicious activity involving WAF assets to the WAF National Contact Centre on 3346777 or shortcode 5777.

When questioned by fijivillage News if they have reported the matter of sabotage to Police, WAF says they have not reported it yet as they intend to discuss it first.
