Vuniwaqa challenges privileged women to empower other women who do not have the same advantages as them

Vuniwaqa challenges privileged women to empower other women who do not have the same advantages as them

Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Mereseini Vuniwaqa has challenged women at the DIVA for Equality’s World Food Day and International Day of Rural Women celebrations to go out and empower women that do not have the advantages that they have.

She says these women are learning new things from each other and not every woman has that opportunity in the communities that they live in.

Vuniwaqa adds that not every woman is empowered like them and she has challenged them to go back and find that woman that everybody might be shunning right now.

She says that they should take a bold step and figure out what is that barrier that is stopping her from coming forward and include her in conversations.

Vuniwaqa also says that the struggles that women face is also an opportunity for them and it should not be a barrier stopping them from moving forward.

The Minister adds that women are blessed as being multi-taskers where they have the expertise that may not come so easily to a man because they do not have the privilege to be gifted with so many skills that women apply everyday by looking after their home, children, managing the accounts for the home and how to cook food.
