Vodafone has come on board to provide a timely sponsorship worth around $40,000 to the Oceania Netball World Cup Qualifiers which will be held in Fiji from the 19th to the 23rd of this month.

The sponsorship includes monetary support, training kits and equipment, communication devices and WiFi connectivity.

Vodafone will also be the telecommunications partner for the event.

Chief Marketing Officer, Rajnesh Prasad says they have had long standing partnerships with various sporting bodies across the country in fostering sports in different domains.

Prasad says Vodafone Fiji continues to be driven by the passion for our Vanua.

He says they have come on board with a shared vision of encouraging and empowering more women in sports.

Prasad says through their sponsorship they will provide the funding and appropriate marketing needed for the Qualifier.

Oceania Netball Federation President, Wainikiti Bogidrau says the assistance is timely as they were looking for a sponsor.

Bogidrau says the sponsorship demonstrates investment in women and equality.

Participating teams include Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Samoa and Cook Islands.

All teams will play each other once and the two top teams will qualify for the Netball Word Cup next year in South Africa.
