Vodafone Fiji has unveiled its ambitious ‘I Recycle’ program at its head office in Tamavua which aims to reshape the recycling mindset among its staff.

The ‘I Recycle’ program focuses on promoting effective recycling practices across all Vodafone locations in Fiji, aligning with the company's core value of “Our Vanua.”

This initiative is designed to foster a culture of sustainability among Fijians, demonstrating Vodafone’s dedication to community well-being and environmental stewardship.

Vodafone Fiji’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Rajnesh Prasad says the ‘I Recycle’ program has been brought to life through their collaboration with Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited and Pacific Recycling Foundation.

Prasad says they are committed to minimizing their environmental footprint and promoting sustainable practices among their employees.

He says to ensure the program's success, dedicated employees known as Vodafone’s ‘Eco-Warriors’ will receive comprehensive training on waste management and recycling.

He adds these Eco-Warriors, representing various departments will advocate for the initiative and monitor waste separation efforts within the company.

Meanwhile, the Founder of the Pacific Recycling Foundation, Amitesh Deo says this initiative sets a powerful example for businesses across the nation.

Deo says by embedding sustainability into their operations, Vodafone Fiji not only reduces its environmental impact but also paves the way for broader corporate participation in effective waste management.

He says the ‘I Recycle’ program represents a strategic approach to data collection, advocacy and project sustainability.

He further says through the 'I Recycle' initiative, Vodafone Fiji is championing a sustainable future, proving that corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.
