Vodafone Fiji Limited is now 100 percent locally owned as Fiji National Provident Fund has purchased Vodafone’s entire 49 percent stake in Vodafone Fiji taking FNPF’s direct and indirect ownership to 79 percent.
Chief Executive Officer, Aisake Taito said this will allow FNPF members to directly realize the benefits from Vodafone Fiji Limited’s strong financial performance through higher dividend share.
He added that the investment is part of FNPF’s move to diversify its investment portfolio.
Taito said the current Vodafone Fiji Limited board directors will continue to serve on the board while for customers, financiers, vendors and staff, business will remain as usual with little operational changes.
Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited directly owns the remaining 51 percent shareholding in Vodafone Fiji Limited.
