Vocal debates on global issues are currently underway at the 9th Model United Nations at International School Suva yesterday.
Student representatives from 4 schools in Fiji will focus on two situations ranging from the crisis of Korea and the crisis of the state of Israel.
The 4 schools include International School Suva, Dudley High School, International School Nadi and Jai Narayan College.
Coordinator Milika Waqainabete says the main objective of Model United Nations is to encourage young student leaders to recognize their role as global citizens.
Waqainabete says students will be debating on how different countries present their position papers and they will follow the procedure of the Model UN to look for a resolution.
Students are split up into three groups which include the General Assembly, Security Council and the Economic and Social Council.
The Model UN ends tomorrow.
