In a bold move to empower small and medium-sized enterprises across Fiji, VitiKart and global logistics leader DHL Express have announced a strategic partnership aimed at transforming the region’s e-commerce and logistics landscape.
This collaboration will integrate DHL’s world-class international shipping services directly into VitiKart, Vodafone’s digital marketplace, making global trade more accessible and efficient for local businesses.
While speaking at the launch, Vodafone Fiji’s Head of Brands, Marketing and Digital, Saileshni Chand says the partnership will help grow the Fijian economy by supporting local businesses and creating a stronger, more connected future for everyone.
She says that for a long time, MSMEs have struggled with international shipping because of high costs, complicated customs, and delivery problems but this partnership will help solve those issues.
She adds that businesses on the VitiKart platform can easily use DHL’s global delivery network, making shipping easier and cheaper so MSMEs can focus on growing their business and improving their products.
Chand says a local artisan in Suva can now easily ship handmade products to Sydney with a few clicks, saving time and money so they can focus on making quality Fijian goods.
VitiKart currently has 116 active MSMEs, and with DHL’s wide network, these businesses can now reach millions of customers around the world.
Chand says the project will help more people around the world see Fijian products and create new ways for businesses to earn money through international trade.
She emphasised that this partnership supports Fiji’s digital and economic growth for the long term, not just the short term.
She further says that the partnership also wants to build trust with international buyers by making sure deliveries are reliable, fast, and safe, which helps create strong business relationships.
DHL Country Manager for Fiji and the Pacific Islands, Sarvesh Devan says both VitiKart and DHL had been working on this partnership for at least a year.
He says logistics is vital for cross-border trade, and through DHL, they can provide this service to help MSMEs grow and reach more customers.
He says DHL keeps every item safe, and customers can track their shipment live from pickup to delivery, including when it’s with the courier, in a warehouse, clearing customs, or out for delivery.
Devan adds that DHL helps merchants make sure all the needed paperwork is ready and goes with the shipment when it is picked up.
