Energy Fiji Limited says Tropical Depression 03F which later intensified into Tropical Cyclone Cody has brought about some damages to the EFL infrastructure especially in Western Viti Levu and some parts of the Central Viti Levu.

CEO Hasmukh Patel says their teams are working in the various locations and are systematically managing the restoration depending on the weather conditions in specific areas, receding water levels, clearance of blocked roads/bridges before power supply is restored.

Patel says safety is paramount in their efforts to restore electricity and this could take time depending on the issues encountered in these locations.

He adds it is important to reiterate to everyone to stay away from any fallen and/or broken power lines.

Patel further says if any member of the public sees any fallen lines, please treat it as live, and make every attempt to alert EFL on its emergency line, 913.
