We need to be health cautious given the number of people who die from Non Communicable Diseases and change our eating habits and eat more plant base foods instead of processed foods.

This was highlighted by Nutritionist and Director of VegFest Fiji Victtoria Pasca during the VegFest dinner last night.

Pasca says she was overwhelmed with the response from the public when she began her quest to promote healthy living in Fiji and the Pacific 6 years ago which has transformed the lives of people to eat healthy and live a healthy life.

Pasca says promoting a plant base diet in our lives ensures our body gets the nutrients and vitamins it needs and it also promotes Fiji and Pacific cuisine.

She says she has receiveed so much support from various stakeholders and the Goverment as well in her bid to promote veg fest which can ultimately decrease the various life style diseases that people die from every year in Fiji and the Pacific.

Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua says she is glad to be part of the VegFest dinner and says it is the best form to promote healthy living in Fiji and the Pacific.

She says we have to be health conscious given the number of people who die from NCDs and food plays an important factor in dealing with it.
