Vaturova Koroalau High School in Savusavu will be relying on their 14 gold medal athletes from the Savusavu Zone to bring glory to the school when they take the field at this year’s Fiji Secondary School Coca-Cola Games.

School Principal Sevuloni Tokaimalo shared with fijivillage News the experiences of these students coming to participate in one of the biggest games in the secondary school calendar.

He says most of their students are taking part for the first time in the games.

Tokaimalo, who hails from Nuku in Serua, says they will capitalize on their strengths which are the relay teams and the long distance events.

He says they are hoping to create a few upsets in the girls division.

He says they have a total of 20 athletes taking part, with only 2 boys, and one is taking part in the senior boys 200 metres and the other will be participating in the sub-junior boys long jump.

Tokaimalo says they faced a lot of challenges coming to Suva and he is grateful for the support from old scholars in Suva and abroad.

The Coca-Cola Games will be held from tomorrow to Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium.
