Vatia who allegedly killed a Village Headman granted bail

Veresa Vatia who is charged with one count of murder has been granted bail.

47-year-old Vatia is alleged to have assaulted the Turaga ni Koro of Baleyaganiga Village in Cakaudrove which resulted in his death.

He is alleged to have assaulted the Turaga ni Koro while he was trying to disperse a drinking party on the 16th of April.

He is also facing a charge of failure to comply with orders for allegedly breaching social gathering restrictions.

The case has been adjourned to the 25th of next month for plea.
