The Lelean Memorial School’s inter-house athletics competition ended with high drama after a last-minute update in the final medal tally confirmed Varani House as the 2025 champions, successfully defending their title with 29 gold, 39 silver, and 23 bronze.

The battle was intense throughout the day, with Bulu House pushing hard and finishing in second place with 28 gold, 17 silver, and 19 bronze.

Mateinaniu House settled for third place with 22 gold, 16 silver, and 23 bronze, while Naucukidi House finished last despite securing 19 gold, 23 silver, and 20 bronze medals.

What made the finish even more thrilling was the sudden shift in the tally.

Varani House had initially appeared to be trailing Bulu House; however, after a final review of results—including relay finishes and field event points—officials confirmed that Varani had indeed clinched the overall title by just one gold medal.

The LMS inter-House competition was held at HFC Bank Stadium.
