Two youth groups in Lautoka are taking on the challenge to promote community engagement and healthy living in their respective communities.

The youths of Vakatora banded together to conduct a successful clean-up campaign in their neighbourhood, and this initiative not only contributed to beautifying their surroundings but also fostered a sense of pride and responsibility among the residents.

Not stopping there, the Vakatora youths took a step further by joining forces with their counterparts from Tomuka for afternoon volleyball sessions.

The Club says by promoting sports and physical activity they aim to raise awareness about the importance of combatting non-communicable diseases through a healthy and active lifestyle.

The collaboration between the two youth groups not only promises to bring the communities closer but also serves as an inspiring example of proactive engagement and teamwork.

The Club is encouraging young people to participate in activities that will not only benefit their physical health, but also nurture important life skills such as leadership, teamwork, and cooperation.

The Ministry for Youth and Sports says as the Vakatora and Tomuka youths continue to work hand in hand for the betterment of their communities, their efforts are sure to have a lasting and positive impact.

They say it is heartening to see the younger generation taking charge and stepping up to make a difference, setting a shining example for others to follow.
