Secondary school students from around Viti Levu explored career opportunities at the University of Fiji’s Open Day Festival in large numbers this year.

Vice Chancellor, Professor Shaista Shameem addressed the Year 13 students at the Saweni Campus saying that learning at the Uni Fiji is a unique experience as it emphasised holistic education prioritising emotional intelligence and human values.

Professor Shameem says the University is internationally accredited with Quality Assurance Agency of the UK’s badge, meaning that students and their parents would be interested in the programmes offered at Saweni and Samabula campuses.

Students visited Saweni and Samabula campuses to gain knowledge about the programmes offered by UniFiji to make rational decisions.

A unique feature of this year’s Open Day was the stalls, music and festivities that dominated the grounds of the University and showcased the unique talents that the University promotes.

Meanwhile, UniFiji Student Recrutiment Coordinatior, Leone Zion described the response from the schools as brilliant and surpassing the University’s expectations.

Zion says Open Day is one of the most important events in UniFiji’s calender as it provides prospective students with the ideal opportunity to gain knowledge about their possible field of study.

The Student Recrutiment Coordinatior says academics and support staff are ready to provide invaluble information the students need to make a decision about their future.
