Rakesh Douglas's family has travelled from Vanuatu to honour their son's milestone achievement as he graduated today with a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Economics and Public Administration, which highlights their deep pride and support.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Douglas says the journey has been both challenging and rewarding.

He dedicates his achievement to his family especially those who couldn't be present today.

His mother says seeing her son achieve this milestone after such a long and challenging journey fills her with immense pride and gratitude and she is truly blessed to witness his success.

Douglas says Professor Pal Ahluwalia personally praised his dedication and hard work for which he feels both honoured and privileged.

He says that many don’t get the opportunity to meet Professor Ahluwalia.

Douglas advises future graduates to persevere through difficulties and remain focused on their goals and emphasises that steadfast dedication and resilience are key to achieving success.
