US Ambassador to Fiji Joseph Cella.

The US Embassy in Fiji will soon make an announcement on further aid for Fijians affected by Tropical Cyclone Yasa.

Last month, they had donated $204,550 in assistance for urgent shelter, water, hygiene and other critical needs in communities impacted by the cyclone.

US Ambassador to Fiji, Joseph Cella says in terms of economic relief they will be assisting Fiji through non-governmental organizations and other partners.

The Embassy hosted more than 50 representatives from Fiji’s private sector for a round table discussion on building bridges between civil society, business and government today.

Cella says the significance of this program is to share ideas on how business leaders, associations and civil society can turn their challenges into opportunities and success.

He says it is important to keep these discussions and forums alive considering the impact that COVID-19 has had on the economy.
