Dubai 7s: Ulunisau hattrick helps Fijiana hold off France 28-19

Reapi Ulunisau's hattrick has helped the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s hold off France 28-19 in their second pool match this evening.

The Fijiana ran in 4 converted tries to Ulunisau and Sera Bolatini with conversions from Lavena Cavuru and Ulunisau.

In the first half the Fijiana ran riot over France seemingly scoring at will.

The Fijiana led 21-0 at halftime.

Les Blues struck back in the second half with three quick tries to Hawa Tounkara, Lilou Graciet and Suliana Sivi.

Bolatini's try in the eighth minute was the difference maker as the Fijiana were able to hold off the France attack with time running out with a nine point lead.

The Fijiana will next play New Zealand at 1.27am tomorrow.

The women’s semifinals begin at 9.12pm tomorrow, with the final scheduled for 3.35am Monday.

In other games, the New Zealand Women edged France 24-21, Australia beat Japan 31-7, Canada thumped Great Britain 41-5.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Men’s 7s team beat Argentina 26-19, they play South Africa at 12.16am tomorrow and France at 4.12am tomorrow.

The men’s semifinals will begin at 10.06pm tomorrow, with the final set for 4.11am Monday.
