The Fiji Airways Men's National 7s team will play New Zealand in the Cup semi final at 10.28 tonight after going down 24-19 to France in their final pool match this morning.

The French shut out Fiji for most of the game as they starved them off the ball.

Fiji's tries came from Joseva Talacolo, skipper Jeremaia Matana, and Apete Narogo playing in his debut tournament with conversions from Waisea Nacuqu and Sakiusa Siqila.

France led 12-7 at the break.

Fiji had seemed unstoppable in their first two games as they took out Argentina 26-19 in their first pool game before dispatching South Africa 28-10.

The Men's Cup semifinals will begin at 10.06 tonight where Australia will face France, while Fiji plays New Zealand at 10.28 tonight with the final set for 4.11am tomorrow.

In other games, New Zealand thumped Spain 24-7, Australia beat great Britain 26-17.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s will play Australia in the Cup semi final at 9.34 tonight, with the Black Ferns 7s meeting Japan at 9.12 tonight.

The Women's Cup final kicks off at 3.35am tomorrow.
