Two trial matches for Fijian Drua against Western Force and Rebels

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will have two trial matches before their first Super Rugby Pacific match on the 18th of next month.

The first trial match is against Western Force on the 30th of this month while the second trial match is against the Rebels in Melbourne on 10th February 2022.

After being asked by fijivillage, Fijian Drua CEO Brian Thorburn confirmed these trial matches will not be broadcast on mainstream television.

He says unfortunately, it is just too expensive.

Thorburn adds their seven home games will cost them AUD$120,000 for each game to broadcast and they cannot justify that for the trial games.

He says they are working on some YouTube style coverage for the trial games and if they can pull that off they will be publicizing it over the next ten days.

The Fijian Drua will play the Highlanders on April 30th at the ANZ Stadium in Suva while their opening round game is against the Waratahs on Friday 18th February.
