Two more children receive life saving heart surgery

Two more children have received life saving heart surgeries at the Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital.

5 year old Jacob Prasad is one of the children and his mother Taware Marisera says she got emotional as she looked at her son and thought of those days of seeing Jacob coughing and struggling to live a normal life.

Marisera says she is now relieved that her son has received life saving surgery.

She says she came to know about her son's congenital heart issues when he was 3 months old, and in the year 2020, Jacob was called to get an echo-cardiogram.

Marisera adds after the doctors at the CWM Hospital notified her of the issues faced by her son, she nearly lost hope for a miracle but was relieved by the support from the Sai Prema Foundation that gave them the encouragement that there is still hope for her son.

She adds that during those challenging days, they were nervous until they received a message that doctors will perform free surgeries for children with heart issues in Fiji.

Meanwhile, Mark Whippy, the father of 12 year old Deborah Whippy says it was heartbreaking to know that their child was diagnosed with heart issues.

He is thankful that the operation was successful and believes his daughter will now live a normal life in the future.

Whippy acknowledged the services provided by the doctors and staff at the Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital.
