Two men arrested for alleged marijuana possession after 2am raid in Wailea

Two men have been arrested for the alleged possession of illicit drugs after a joint raid by the Fiji Police and Fiji Dog Detector Unit was conducted at 2 this morning at Wailea in Vatuwaqa

The suspects were caught with 10 dried loose branches believed to be marijuana.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu says the raid was conducted around 2am this morning.

Driu says with the assistance of their K-9 capabilities from the FDDU, the team managed to locate the said drugs without much trouble.

He says Police will continue to conduct drug raids, do checks at checkpoints and on people loitering around during odd hours of the night.

ACP Driu says the two suspects are currently in Police Custody as Investigation continues.
