A 28-year-old man was injured during a robbery while on his lunch break along Waimanu Road in Suva at around 1pm today.

The man told fijivillage News that he was sitting in his car when two men attacked and robbed him.

He sustained cuts and bruises during the incident and was left with blood on his shirt.

When asked what was taken from his vehicle, the shocked man said he was unsure.

A Communications Fiji Limited employee who was resting inside the warehouse at the time, said he ran out to assist after hearing the man call for help.

He says his shirt was ripped in the struggle, and he also sustained injuries while trying to fend off the attackers.

People working in the area say this is not the first time such an incident has occurred, raising concerns about the safety of the people working and living in the Waimanu Road area.

Questions have been sent to the police.

They are yet to respond.
