Tuiteci to front court for allegedly failing to deactivate his Facebook account

A man who was earlier charged and produced in court for posting live videos about COVID-19 on Facebook with the alleged intention of creating public alarm will front court again today for allegedly breaching his bail conditions.

Police say retired military officer Seremaia Tuiteci has been freshly charged with two counts of Breach of Bail for allegedly failing to sign in at the Valelevu Police Station and failing to deactivate his Facebook account.

In July, Tuiteci was released on bail by the Nasinu Magistrates Court.

He was facing one count of Malicious Act.

The alleged incidents occurred between the 15th and 20th of this month.

The court had ordered Tuiteci in July to de-activate all his social media accounts and report to Valelevu Police Station every Friday between 8am to 5pm.
