All Suva Women's rugby players have all been paid for the 2024 season and they have discussed this internally with the players and management.

This was highlighted by Suva Rugby Union General Secretary Nemani Tuifagalele to fijivillage Sports this morning after allegations surfaced regarding players' welfare and payments.

Tuifagalele says players' expectations are such that they expect to get paid when they win tournaments and according to Tuifagalele, this can only happen if they have money to spend because the cost of running a team in a season is costly.

He says that nothing is promised to players and they are only paid extra if the union is financially viable to do so.

Tuifagalele reiterates that if they have enough money then it will be given as incentives and he stresses the importance of balance and says they can not pay for something they do not have.

He stresses that the union will await the reports from an audit which will further breakdown costs.

Fiji Rugby Union Development Officer Tiko Matawalu told fijivillage News that all proceeds for the winning Suva Women's Rugby Team have been paid to the Union for the 2024 season.
