Through the 10 years of learning and joining all the pieces of how to become a renowned designer, Epeli Tuibeqa last night won the Designer of the Year Award and was also included in the Hall of Fame during the Fiji Fashion Week Fashion Awards and Anniversary Dinner.

Tuibeqa says he is excited that through his recognition, it means he has done something right and the struggles and trials that he has overcome over the years has been recognized.

The owner of Kuiviti Designs says it has been a tough year for him after facing challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, but he has his family and friends from all over the world to thank for all the support since he first showcased his design 13 years ago.

He says he found great difficulty in coming up with the designs for his collections this year, but he always looked at his family for inspiration.

Meanwhile, Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, Faiyaz Koya says with nominations ranging from Designer of the Year to Model of the Year, People’s Choice Award and New Face Male Model and many more, they are confident that the fashion industry will give rise to new and aspiring designers to carry the Fijian brand forward.
