Turaga Na Tui Namosi, Ratu Suliano Matanitobua has called on the people of Namosi to unite and take responsibility for safeguarding their youth as Fiji continues to face rising drug use and social issues.

Speaking at the opening of the Namosi Provincial Council Meeting, he stressed the need for collective action from all communities to protect and educate future leaders.

Ratu Suliano also urged villagers to make better use of their land through farming and development initiatives, saying the province should not rely on government assistance but take the lead in its own progress.

He encouraged everyone to use their natural resources wisely and work together for the betterment of Namosi, especially its young people.

The provincial council meeting is underway at Ro Kuruduadua Hall in Navua.
