The Commander of the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces , Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai today officially opened the Trauma Healing Workshop which was conducted at the RFMF Chapel at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua.

In his opening address, Major-General Kalouniwai thanked the RFMF Chaplaincy department and the staff from the Bible Society of the South Pacific for the joint collaboration in organizing a workshop that is centred on assisting personnel that go through various forms of trauma.

He says that it was crucial for the participants to learn as much as they can during the course in order to help soldiers and sailors improve their lives and at the same time promote good health physically, mentally and spiritually.

The Commander also mentioned that the conduct of the course was in line with certain components of the 5-year strategic plan in terms of transforming the institution.

He said that after the duration of the course he hopes that all the participants should be able to assist those that face trauma especially when out on peacekeeping duties.

Reverend Amena Volavola from the Bible Society of the South Pacific says they were honored to impart knowledge to the RFMF, as it would be beneficial to the institution.
