51-year-old Italian sprinter, Valentina Petrillo with visual impairments has qualified for the T12 400m semi-finals.
Petrillo finished second in her heat with a time of 58.35 seconds, 1.38 secs behind Venezuela's Alejandra Paola Perez Lopez.
Petrillo qualified sixth-fastest for the semi-finals - 2.99secs behind top qualifier and world record holder Omara Durand from Cuba.
Meanwhile, China is leading the table with 42 gold, 29 silver an 14 bronze followed by Great Britain with 29 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze, United States is third with 13 gold, 18 sliver and 10 bronze.
