Traffic along Ratu Mara Road and other nearby areas like Laucala Beach is being caused due to the urgent wastewater asset maintenance works on a leaking Nabua Wastewater Pump Station by the Water Authority of Fiji.

A number of drivers travelling through the area have raised concerns that there is huge traffic in the area, they were not aware of what is happening and no one is conducting traffic management.

Works started in front of Ratu Sukuna Memorial School from 6pm yesterday and will finish at 6pm tomorrow.

WAF says they had sent an advisory and reminded people to be mindful of the workers who will be working in the area.

They say they will be prioritizing these works with urgency.

WAF say they have to keep in mind that the health and safety of their staff and the general public is not compromised given the nature of works involved with the repairs.
