Dr. Paresh Pant is the new Chief Executive Officer for Tourism Fiji.

In a statement this morning, the Tourism Fiji Board announced Dr. Pant’s appointment following a rigorous recruitment process.

The board says Dr. Pant, who has more than 25 years of leadership experience in tourism, hospitality, and aviation across Fiji, Australia, and New Zealand, has previously held roles including Regional Director positions, and has been recognised as a visionary strategist who has consistently delivered destination marketing strategies and strong stakeholder partnerships.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka says Dr. Pant’s appointment comes at a crucial time for the industry and is confident in his work delivery to strengthen Fiji’s global brand.

Tourism Fiji Board Chair Ilisapeci Matatolu also expressed the Board’s confidence in his leadership and says that Dr. Pant will not only bring a wealth of global experience, but also a genuine passion for Fiji and its people.

In addition to his industry experience, Dr. Pant holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Tourism Strategy & Aviation Management from Griffith University, Australia, along with postgraduate qualifications in commerce and marketing from leading New Zealand universities.

Dr. Pant will officially assume his role as CEO of Tourism Fiji next month.
