The task will now be tougher for the Highlanders to defeat the Crusaders in tomorrow's Super Rugby Aotearoa clash after six of their players were disciplined for breaking the club's code.

Highlanders coach Tony Brown has dropped All Black Josh Ioane, Daniel Lienert-Brown, Marino Mikaele-Tu’u, Teariki Ben-Nicholas, Patelesio Tomkinson, and Sione Misiloi for letting the team down after they broke team protocols.

Brown says it is all around the professional habits and these players will not be available for selection.

Brown confirmed the incident was alcohol-related.

The Highlanders will take on the Crusaders at 6.05pm tomorrow and the Blues will face the Hurricanes at 6.05pm Saturday.
