Nadi has taken out the overall girls division and the combined girls and boys divisions in the Fiji Primary Schools Athletics Tuckers Ice Cream Games after preparing together for only three weeks.

Head Coach Ilisapeci Navula told fijivillage Sports that the team is grateful for the outcome and believes their hard work and faith carried them through.

Navula says they would not have achieved this result without what she describes as divine help, and she is pleased that the effort put in by the athletes and officials was reflected in today’s performance.

She says defending the girls' title is never easy and thanked the strong support system behind the team, including the participating schools, parents, and guardians.

Navula adds that she believed in her athletes and the training process they followed, and acknowledged the parents who turned up in large numbers to support their children.

Nadi secured 14 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals to claim the girls title.
