FRIEND Fiji Founder and CEO Sashi Kiran says Christmas is a time to pray and share love across different ethnic groups.

Kiran is also calling on people to share whatever they can with the underprivileged as the NGO has received a lot of request for food items.

She says this is evident as out of the 150,000 people who were left unemployed in the tourism sector, not all of them have returned to work.

Kiran says they have processed 700 food pack requests last week, and about 500 have been delivered.

She says there is an increase for wheelchair requests and they have also provided adult diapers and infant milk.

Kiran adds families need to be mindful of COVID-safe measures during gatherings.
