Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime, Sakeo Raikaci

Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime Sakeo Raikaci says there are some areas in Fiji that manufacture white drugs as they have detected some material that is used to make methamphetamine.

When questioned by the media on the contributing factors of white and green drugs found in villages, Raikaci says drugs is all over our country right now and the police will never drop its gun in fighting against drugs.

He says this can be due to some gaps in our border, which needs to be looked into.

Raikaci says rural areas are not safe as well.

The Assistant Commissioner Crime is encouraging people to assist the police as they need to work together to fight against drugs in order to have a safe and secure future.

He further says police are also creating awareness in schools as well.

Raikaci is also urging all parents to provide guidance and monitor their children to keep them away from such substances.

When questioned on the issues of youths on streets, Raikaci says that is an exercise which the police have been doing from the past few months and trying hard to return this kids to their homes, villages and families however, it does not work, especially in Suva.
